CBD oil, also known as hemp oil, has been gaining popularity lately. Perhaps this name scares you a bit, but that’s not necessary at all. CBD oil has many health benefits. We tell you which ones they are!
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (abbreviated CBD) is a so-called cannabinoid, a substance that is formed in the leaves and flowers of the CBD plant. Over a hundred different cannabinoids have now been discovered, of which CBD has a very effective effect on our bodies. CBD is extracted from fiber hemp, a legal type of CBD that can’t get you high.
Our bodies produce endocannabinoids, or body’s own cannabinoids. As the name suggests, these are very similar to the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBD has a positive effect on a number of functions in our bodies. It helps keep our bodies balanced and plays a role in several physiological functions, including metabolism, sleep quality, pain perception and inflammation.
Difference from CBD oil
When you hear the name hemp oil, you may quickly think of CBD oil. Yet there are major differences between these two products. This is because, unlike CBD oil, CBD oil is legal, non-addictive, and does not produce a high feeling.
The Benefits of CBD
CBD oil can provide a solution for people who have trouble sleeping. When your heart rate goes down, you will automatically relax more, both physically and mentally. It also lowers your energy levels, making it easier to fall asleep.
Anxiety and stress
Most people use CBD oil to reduce anxiety and stress. Prolonged stress can lead to various physical symptoms. CBD oil can help combat anxiety. It boosts your mental clarity and focus, making you sharper and better able to organize your thoughts.
If you suffer from chronic pain symptoms, CBD oil can also provide relief. This is because it has a kind of analgesic effect. CBD activates and promotes the body’s natural response to pain. Click here for more information on CBD oils.
Protects the skin
Another reason to use CBD is that it has a positive effect on the skin. It actually counters wrinkles and signs of skin aging.
Many people suffer from migraines. CBD can reduce this problem. Because of the analgesic effect of CBD oil, it also reduces headaches and migraines.
Building up CBD oil dosage slowly
The right dosage differs from person to person and from product to product. It is often advised to start with a low dose and then build it up until the desired effect is achieved. Always start with a low dose. The advice is to start with 1 to 2 drops at a time and then use this 2 or 3 times a day, for example in the morning, afternoon and evening. After this you can adjust the dosage as needed. Always read the information present in the product itself for advice on use.
Consultation with the doctor
CBD oil can be used as a remedy for all kinds of common disorders. However, never stop your (regular) treatment without consulting your doctor. If you want to use CBD oil next to an existing treatment, it is advised to consult your doctor. Always consult the leaflet before use.
