CBD in 7 Questions

More and more people in Italy and around the world are turning to CBD, the molecule extracted from the hemp plant without the psychoactive, “high” and intoxicating effects of THC. The CBD molecule is a pharmacologically active substance found in some medicines, but, at the same time, like other pharmacologically active substances (glycerin, bromelain, azelaic acid) it can also be used as an ingredient in the formulation of cosmetic products since although it has effects on the body, these do not significantly affect human biochemical processes. To understand the application differences read the following questions.

This blog is for informational and informative purposes only about the possible applications of CBD with reference to the various possible uses that exist or are still being studied or researched in order to raise awareness and generate correct user information.

Please note that at present CBD is a pharmacologically active substance (“API”), not psychotropic present, moreover, in the EMA-authorized drug “Epidiolex” (which consists of an oil with 10% CBD extracted from inflorescences of hemp sativa L.). CBD oils can also be prepared in pharmacies by means of galenic preparations according to the procedures set forth in the monograph found in the German Pharmacopoeia and according to the dictates of Article 5 of Law No. 94/1998 (the so-called “Di Bella Law”).

At the same time, like other pharmacologically active substances (glycerin, bromelain, azelaic acid, etc.), Cannabidiol can also be used as an ingredient in the formulation of cosmetic products, since, although it has effects on the body, these do not significantly affect human biochemical processes. Cannabidiol, in fact, is allowed by Reg. (EC) No. 1223/2009 as a cosmetic ingredient both synthetically produced and of natural origin as long as it is extracted from parts not prohibited from the Hemp sativa L. plant by the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.

All products marketed by Eusphera and featured on this site are dietary supplements that comply with current regulations or cosmetic products for external topical use in which CBD obtained from non-prohibited parts of the cannabis sativa L. plant has been used. Such products are NOT medicinal and do not significantly affect human biochemical processes.
